l lawliet is the world’s greatest detective— scratch that, world’s three greatest detectives if you factor in his aliases as deneuve and eraldo coil— and died trying to solve the case of his lifetime, a case in which a high school student by the name of light yagami assumed the identity of “kira” and began killing off the world’s criminals using the death note —in a battle for true justice, i hardly think you can dismiss l’s intelligence simply because he’s good-looking, has a few quirks, and does not carry a gun (i mean, by your logic, that means that you hold matsuda in higher regard than l— and don’t get me wrong, i love matsuda but i mean come on, it’s matsuda)

kyo sohma doesn’t have any great powers, nor is he fabulously wealthy despite how well off the rest of his family is— which is especially surprising to the reader considering he is “of the chosen zodiac; the embodiment of one of the zodiac spirits” but no, no he’s the cat— the animal who was left out of the zodiac which means he’s shunned from his family and treated like utter shit and despite that, he still is looking for the same people who look down on him to accept him in some way, so he trains and works hard and has to bear the burden of his curse and cope with his trust and self-loathing issues and you think he’s unacceptable as a character because he doesn’t have a gun

tamaki commands a league of super bishies, is wealthy as shit, and has a heart bigger than you can imagine because he’s so honest and kind and who the hell cares if he shines brighter than chip skylarks teeth because he is the prince of the hostu kurabu and has more bitches falling at his feet than you can imagine and even after that fact, he still whole-heartedly courted haruhi and earnestly fell in love with her and moved to america to be with her because he loves her so much and he loves his mother very much too and his grandmother and his dad and that is really more important than being a gunslinging badass, esp for the genre of anime/manga that he’s from

point: who da fuck cares whether they’re bishie or badass, they are still beloved men of anime by the fans and by the characters of their series and above all,

they are fictional people
